Gang Show 2018

    Gang Shows

    Gang Show is a theatrical production put on by Scouts and Girl Guides. A Gang Show includes a series of items involving singing, dancing, and acting using a revue format. Cast sizes range from 50 to 200 (depending on the Show) and involve both youth and adults.

    Gang Shows originated in London in 1932, and came to New Zealand in the 1950s.  They have been performed regularly throughout the country every since. We now have seven shows performing on a two yearly cycle:

    • North Shore (even years)
    • Auckland Central (odd years)
    • Waikato (even years)
    • Manawatu (odd years)
    • Hutt Valley (even years)
    • Nelson (even years)
    • Christchurch (odd years)
    • Otago (odd years)
    • Southland (even years)

    Gang Shows 2018:

    North Shore Gang Show: Auditions begin in March, show runs 23 August - 1 September 2018.  More details on website - www.gangshow.org.nz

    Waikato Gang Show: Auditions begin in April, show runs 8-15 September 2018.  More details on website - www.waikatogangshow.org.nz

    Hutt Valley Gang Show:  Auditions begin in April, show runs in September 2018 (dates to be confirmed).  More details on website - www.hvgs.org.nz

    Southland Show: Show runs at Civic Theatre in Invercargill from 23-25 August 2018, including a Saturday matinee.
