Snow School
September School Holidays

Our last Snow School was another successful school with 25 young people aged 13 and over spend seven days at the SCOUTS New Zealand Lodge at Mt Ruapehu, learning snowboarding, skiing, snow safety, and handy snow tricks.

Students benefitted from the world-class expertise of international instructors from Ruapehu Alpine Lifts (RAL).

Cost: estimated at this stage at about $805 for youth members. (Includes lift passes) The fee may be adjusted when RAL 2013 ski season prices are confirmed.

The above cost is based on no funding. SCOUTS New Zealand will again be applying to various trusts for funding to assist with the costs of lift passes and RAL instructors. If we are successful the above fee will be adjusted.
The Cost Calculator (see below) will provide you with your approximate costs to go on the school. hire of skis, snowboards, clothing etc is extra.

How to apply: Before beginning your online registration to attend this event you will need to have ready:

  • Your Personal Membership Number (i.e. be a registered member of SCOUTS New Zealand) - if you do not have a Personal Membership Number please ask your local Leader to get one. If you have forgotten what your Personal Membership Number is please look on your Scout Card or call 0800 SCOUTS or email membership@scouts.org.nz with your full name, Group or Unit name, address and a contact phone number.
     
  • If you are under 16 years of age you must complete your online registration with a parent or caregiver and provide their contact details so the Event Organisers may verify their approval for you to attend.
     
  • You must already have discussed your application with your Scout Leader / Venturer Leader.

To confirm your registration you will need to:

  • Pay a deposit of $110, to change your registration status from 'pending' to 'confirmed',  within 14 days of completing your registration. Payment instructions are included in the checkout stage.
     
  • Get your Scout Leader / Venturer Leader to email snow@scouts.org.nz with an approval for you to attend this event. The email to include their name and scout personal number.
