Welcome to the Upper South Island Region. (USI)
The Region extends from the banks of the Waitaki River in the South through to the sandy beaches of Nelson in the North. From scenic Akaroa in the East and across the spectacular Southern Alps to rugged Hokitika in the West.
The Region is acknowledged as being the home of Scouts in New Zealand with the first Scout Troop being established in Kaiapoi in May 1908, and as the hosts of the New Zealand Centenary Jamboree held in Christchurch in December 2007.
Currently there are 79 active Scout Groups, 23 Venturer Units and 6 Rover Crews in the Region. You will find a Scout Group in most towns throughout the Region.
