The campsite sits beside 3 acres of tree shaded land and is bordered on one side by a stream. A further 5 acres of reserve adjacent to the site is available for camping if needed. A walking track loops around an old quarry which is now covered in native bush.  It is an excellent area for nature study as well as for adventure and fun. See the map below.

The kitchen has the following facilities:

• Two large refrigerators
• One freezer
• A Zip over-bench water heater
• A 40 litre water heater
• Three domestic electric stoves
• A large stainless steel bench for food preparation
• Three washing up sinks.

The Camp Waingaro Committee have been working very hard to improve this camp site. We would welcome any enquiries from Groups wanting to use the facilities. As time goes by the committee will continue to improve the site and add new features such as bunk rooms. This will make the camp much more appealing for your next Group or Section day or overnight camp. If you haven’t been there before it really is a small slice of beauty and tranquility.

Situated on D.O.C Reserve, The building was gifted by local landowner/Bee Keeper Mr. Gordon Gow. Nestled back off the road but easily accessible from the main road. You can have the choose of tent camping on large surrounding paddocks or the luxury of being Indoors. Plenty of area for parking.
