World Scout Conference

Six delegates represented SCOUTS New Zealand at the 38th World Scout Conference on the island of Jeju, Korea, in July 2008, along with 1,183 other participants from over 150 countries.  SCOUTS New Zealand is dedicated to having a continuing voice in the world Scouting arena.  Being part of a worldwide organisation gives our young people many opportunities to travel and to learn, and enables us to advocate for world peace and inter-cultural understanding.

World Scout Youth Forum

The 10th World Scout Youth Forum was held in Iksan, Korea, prior to the World Scout Conference.  Rovers Kelly Tisdall and Craig Gardner represented New Zealand at the Forum, which was attended by 178 participants from 95 countries - the largest number yet at this tri-annual event.

Council of South Pacific Scout Associations

Our International Commissioner George Fairbairn attended the biennial meeting of the Council of South Pacific Scout Associations in July 2008 - hosted by the Polynesian Scout Council.  This body provdes an opportunity for Scout Associations to network, share information, and provide support to develop and promote Scouting in the South Pacific region.  SCOUTS New Zealand has been a committed member of this group since its inception.
