Our Canoe School offers young people aged 14+ the opportunity to spend time in one of New Zealand’s amazing National Parks.
We start with some essential instruction based in Taumaranui learning to canoe and kayak. Then we head off down river where we spend the next 5 days on the Whanganui river paddling to Pipiriki. A distance of about 145 kms. The training continues as we progress downriver.
But its not just all about canoeing. Along the way we stop at a number of really interesting and fun places and learn some of the history of this amazing party of the country. We are in a total wilderness environment.
Be in early, this School often fills well before the closing date (positions are limited). Open to Venturers and to Scouts 14+ years at the start date. If you have any questions email the Canoe School Director at firstname.lastname@example.org
Cost: $450 which is based upon the assumption that we will be able to raise the balance of the funding required. This includes food, canoe hire, paddle and life jacket. You will need to provide a tent and all your personal gear.
Next School: Sunday 15th January 2017 – Saturday 21st January 2017
